THE HOBBIT AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY

Yesterday was just another typical boring Sunday so I decided to sit down and watch a film. Since I have a projector instead of a T.v, there was no excuse as to why I shouldn't of had a relaxing day!

I choose to watch the first hobbit movie in preparation for the second one coming out next month. If you know me then you would know that I'm such a big baby when it comes to scary films and I will refuse to watch it. Lately I have been getting out of my comfort zone and exploring different genre's of films.

The music was right on cue and perfect for the film. It really helped to set the mood of what was happening and I also think that the setting was right for the film. You could tell that they were going on a quest just by the way they spoke, their costumes and also the landscape. The hills and landscape of New Zealand suited the purpose perfectly. Also, the location selection was very well thought out. The caves where the gold was hidden laid deep into the mountains and the storyline was imaginative.

I really enjoyed watching this as I could relate to the character of Bilbo baggins. His personality/attitude was very shy to begin with. He had no confidence to go on this journey at all but I'm glad that he did because he was the person that saved everyone. I'm very much like Bilbo baggins. I hate having to experiment and try out new things since I am scared but once I have tried it then 9 out of 10 times I really enjoy it and want to do it again!

There are lots of characters in this film that you could all relate to. Some are feisty, natural born rulers, some are less confident/shy whereas others are just themselves.

So tonight go out, watch a film and enjoy yourself!

FILMING ON A IPHONE 4S

Did you know that you can film a perfect film on your iphone but it must be edited on the computer as iphone cannot hold the data needed to make a full length minute + long film.

They only things you need are accessories on a for the iphone due to needing the microphone for sound and also stability while filming. You can also film in HD, which stands for high definition. This improves the filming quality massively as the images are crisp and clearer.

FiLMiC Pro is app for many iPhone videographers. It offers dozens of essential options to control the quality of your clips. You have the choice to choose the frame size, frame rate and also the video bit rate. The images are then saved to the camera roll so you can access it later.

Another app that will cost you about £1.49 is Cinemafx FOR VIDEO. you have the choice to pick the lighten within the camera. This gives you a very wide range of options and makes it look different. you have to select a movie clip from your iphone camera roll, you have a choice of picking up to 3 different effects per video from the 50+ range. You cannot have a sneak preview but you can render it and see it before you decide to click finish.

This is a short post about how to make the most of your iPhones, hoped you enjoyed!

MEDIA STUDENT WEEKLY UPDATE!

Hey there, I got really stuck for another post idea so thought that it would be a pretty cool
to keep you all updated with what life as a media student if like.

So far this week it has been quite busy and some what hectic. However, I will try to list 10 things
that I have learnt throughout the past week, to see how far I have come each time I check back.

1: Fairly confident with using photoshop
2: I can confidently use Premier to edit a film
3: Filmed, edited and uploaded a full 2 minute film to Facebook/Youtube
4: Kept up to date with homework by using google docs
5: I can fully understand what the term media is

It doesn't seem a lot but I cannot believe that in the past 3 weeks of college I can now use a Mac.
I'm enjoying college so much and I'm trying my best to achieve the best grades possible!

MACBOOK PRO

MacBook Pro '13'
I guarantee you this now, 90% of people who read this will have a least one Apple product in their family. This can include anything from MacBooks, pods, Iphone and everything else that Apple have. Recently, well actually a few days back I was sucked into the Apple craze and splashed out to buying myself a new MacBook Pro. Well, I am a media student after all, so I could justify this massive spend! Apple products are by no means cheap at all. I thought it would of cost me over £2,000 but since I am a student I get a massive 15% off. I suppose what I am trying to say is whatever you do, check before you a product as you may be entitled to a student discount.

In a way this is a pointless blog post but I thought it would be fun to see life
through the eyes of a media student.

REALITY VS REALITY

How many of you reading this actually watch reality T.v series? Yep, that's right most of you do at some point in your life! Here I will try and explain about the pro's and con's of a few reality shows and see how they can affect us with normal everyday life.

Educating Essex
First up is educating Yorkshire. This is basically a copy cat version of educating Essex (which I must admit is a better program, since it is the original) Based on a years worth of documentary at Thornhill school, this is a fun insight into the world of a secondary school. I think that this documentary has a fun side to it because you actually see what life is like for teenager going through school. Have you ever wondered what your children are like when they are away from you? Well, if they are at Thornhill then I suggest you check out this program. Here's a heads up, don't think that all children while at school are perfect angels. THEY ARE NOT! You will most likely be surprise to see the truth once those school front doors are closed!

Don't tell the bride
I am in love with this program! However, I do feel sorry for the brides who don't even get a say in what their special day is like. Imagine putting all your trust into the hands of 'the one love' Some must find it scary while others must find it fun. Being a teenager watching this program it does make you think about what your fairytale wedding would be like. The reason why I love to watch this is because no matter how wrong the grooms choices are, love will always come up on top. Seeing the bride practically run up to her groom is the most amazing scene. Also, the commentary gives it an edge and crates an overall tone. The program showcases how the male species think in term of seriousness. Have you ever been to a wedding abroad, how about a festival theme in a field, or even seen a bride sky dive just before she says 'I do'. That's right no one has. So, sit back and watch the program, maybe you might get a idea into planning your unique wedding?

The valleys
The valleys, the valleys, the valleys. Three words spring to mind and sum up this reality program perfectly! Sex, drinks and nightclub. This is basically an insight into the world of what 'modern day' young adults act like. This is a tongue in cheek, not to be taken seriously kind of program. Some of the antics are over the top, which makes me think they have purposely put in for the wow factor. This reality show is all about the partying, kicking back, letting your hair down and having fun. I suggest that you don't watching this program with the parents as it can be a tad bit embarrassing!

All in all 'reality T.V' is basically reality T.V. Just enjoy watching it and don't take things to seriously.
